Health Bars
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 3/4 c. olive oil
- 5 apples cooked and pureed
- 1 cup cooked dates
- 1/2 c. maple syrup or honey
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1/2 c. wheatgerm
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. oatmeal
- 1 1/2 c. dry cranberry or raisins
- 1 c chopped almonds
- 1/3 c. sunflower seeds
- 1/3 c. ground flax seeds
- 1/3 c. sesame seed
- 1/3 c. pumpkin seeds
- Heat the oven at 350F"
- Mix with a spoon olive oil with maple syrup, eggs and vanilla, add the pureed apples and cooked dates.
- Mix the flour, wheatgerm and baking soda, the oatmeal, add the almonds, dry fruits and seeds in a large bowl, add the first mix and mix very well.Press in an 9 X 13 greased mold. Bake until the fingers leave no imprint when press in the center.Cool off and cut in bars or squares.
