Grandma'S Rolls

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. 2. In a tall glass put yeast sugar.
  3. 3. Add 1-1/3 cups of warm water, stir well and sit aside.
  4. 4. In another tall glass, put 2 eggs and 1-1/3 cups water, stir well and set aside.
  5. 5. In large bowl, add flour, salt and Crisco.
  6. 6. Alternately add yeast and egg mixture.
  7. 7. Work in to a dough consistency
  8. 8. Cover with damp cloth and refrigerate overnight.
  9. 9. 4 Hours before cooking 10. Punch down: turn out on lightly floured board.
  10. 11. Pinch off rolls and cut or shape by hand.
  11. 12. Dip edge of roll in melted butter and fold.
  12. 13. Let rise for 3 to 4 hours.
  13. 14. Put in hot oven and bake.
  14. 15. When rolls start to brown, baste with butter.
