Hungarian Pastry
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 6 egg yolks, beaten
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 egg whites
- 1 Solo fruit preserves
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Add
- flour (sifted with baking powder and soda).tdd
- alternately, the egg yolks with vanilla.teat until
- thick.
- Take
- the
- beaters
- off.
- Mix
- well. Press dough in 11t
- 17-inch
- pan
- with palm of hand.
- Spread fruit preserves over dough.
- Beat egg whites stiff with sugar; spread over the preserves.tprinkle with nuts.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool.
- Cut into squares.
