Firehouse Spaghetti
- 4 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. diced pork chops or pork loin
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes and green chilies
- 1 small can tomatoes
- 1 large can tomato sauce
- 1 pkg. spaghetti sauce mix (Italian style)
- 1 large can chopped mushrooms
- 1 (1 lb.) pkg. vermicelli
- Start cooking with tomato sauce.
- Add Ro-Tel, canned tomatoes and mushrooms.
- Brown ground beef and cook pork slowly until tender.
- Add the ground beef and pork to sauce.
- Saute onions and add to sauce.
- Add water to reach desired thickness.
- After sauce comes to a boil, reduce heat and cook 2 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add cooked vermicelli (thin spaghetti) and package of spaghetti sauce mix.
- You may substitute chicken in place of pork or use both.
