Black Onion Seed Hot Sauce
- 5 cups Assorted hot peppers(recommend at least some Jalapeno, Habanero, Cayenne, though others or even all a single type is probably fine)
- 10 cloves Garlic
- .5 cup Cider vinegar
- .25 cup Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon Black mustard seed
- 1 pinch Black pepper, ground(to taste, or)
- Set oven to 350 degrees F
- Add garlic cloves, unpeeled, to baking sheet and bake until soft and browned, about 15 mins
- Peppers can be done in the oven under the broiler until skins are crispy, though better is to put them on low heat in a charcoal grill, soaking hardwood chips and adding along with the peppers, then covering and allowing them to smoke until skins are crisp
- Once done, allow garlic cloves and peppers to cool a bit, then peel/squish out roasted garlic and discard skin, and remove tops of peppers, leaving seeds and ribs
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Best after it's been allowed to sit overnight
some, garlic, vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, salt, mustard powder, black mustard, black pepper
