Bourbon Ham
- 1 fully cooked ham
- 3/4 cup bourbon whiskey
- 3/4 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 oranges, segmented ( or substitute with pineapple or mandarin oranges )
- 1 Tablespoon dry mustard
- For fully cooked ham, warm up in oven at 325 degrees for 1/2 hour. Remove from oven and cool - then remove rind and score half inch apart -- drain off fat.
- For uncooked ham (12 - 14 lbs.), cook and then cool, score, etc.
- Pour 1/2 cup whiskey over ham.
- In a bowl, combine sugar, mustard and 1/4 cup whiskey.
- Coat the ham with whiskey, sugar mixture. Stud cloves evenly over ham. Cover with orange or pineapple slices. Use toothpicks to hold the slices to the ham.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Baste with drippings 3 times while baking.
