Ground Beef And Macaroni Casserole
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1/8 c. onion
- 1/8 c. green pepper
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1/4 c. brown Karo
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 c. tomato juice
- 1 1/2 c. shell macaroni
- 1/2 c. shredded cheese
- Heat oil in skillet.
- Add onion and green pepper; cook until tender.
- Add beef.
- Brown, stirring often.
- Pour out and save 1/8 cup liquid from tomatoes.
- Add rest of tomatoes, syrup, salt, pepper, chili powder and bay leaf to meat mixture.
- Bring to boil, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
- Blend cornstarch with tomato juice. Stir into meat mixture.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add cooked macaroni. Pour into casserole dish.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
