Meat Pie Roma
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (or half ground beef/half Italian sausage)
- Slices of pepperoni, if desired
- 15 oz. can tomato sauce (only use 12 oz.)
- 1 small can mushrooms
- Salt to taste
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. dried minced onions
- 2 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp. fennel seed
- 1 (8 oz.) can biscuits
- 1/4 cup grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese (shredded or sliced)
- Spray Pam
- Brown meat and seasonings and drain. Stir in mushrooms and tomato sauce. Simmer, stirring for 10 minutes.
- Spray a large Pyrex pie dish with Pam and line with biscuits, pressing together to seal. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over biscuits.
- Layer half meat mixture, half Mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, remaining meat and pepperoni slices, and top with Mozzarella cheese.
- Place pie dish on a cookie sheet to catch drips and bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until cheese on top and biscuit dough on sides are slightly browned.
