Nonna’S Secret Ingredient Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars together in a stand mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla until blended. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon together into a large bowl. In a medium bowl, mix chopped pretzels, Nestle Toll House dark chocolate morsels, dried cranberries, and chopped pecans (if using). Set aside. With the stand mixer on its slowest speed, add flour mixture a portion at a time until well blended. Do not over mix. Remove cookie dough to cutting board or large bowl and mix in the remaining ingredients by hand as it will be too thick for the stand mixer to combine properly. Divide dough into three parts and roll in plastic wrap to make three logs. Refrigerate the dough for a few minutes if it has become too soft. Slice the logs and place onto a Silpat lined baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes. Makes 36 cookies.
