Apple Pie With Pat Topping
- 1 prepared uncooked pie crust
- Filling
- 3 lbs (about 8) McIntosh apples
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Topping
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- Preheat oven to 350
- Line pie pan with crust
- In a large bowl, toss together the apples, each peeled, cored, and cut into eighths, 3/4 cup of sugar, the flour, the cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice until the mixture is combined well, transfer the filling to the shell.
- For the topping, mix ingredients until it crumbles and then sprinkle of ther the apple mixture.
- Bake at 350 for about an hour.
