Jeffrey Family Italian Spaghetti
- 5 links Sweet Italian Sausage
- 1 T Butter
- 1 Medium Sweet Onion diced
- 8 White Mushrooms
- 1 Can Large Black Olives
- 2 Cans Tomato Sauce
- 6 Cloves Garlic Minced
- 2 T Sugar
- 1 t Salt
- 1 t Fresh Ground Pepper
- 3 T Fresh Basil minced
- 1 T Italian Seasoning
- 12 oz package of thin Spaghetti
- Grated Parmesan Cheese
- TOMATO SAUCE
- - Remove casing on each link and cut each link into 5 sections forming meatballs. Over medium heat, brown meatballs in large sauce pan then drain and set aside.
- - Over medium heat, Add butter, garlic, onions and mushrooms to large sauce pan and cook until onions become soft and start browning.
- - Add meatballs, tomato sauce, black olives, sugar, basil and italian seasoning to large saucepan.
- - Add 1/2 cup of water to thin if desired.
- - Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for at least 1 hour. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- SPAGHETTI
- - Cook spaghetti per directions then thouroughly drain.
- SERVE
- - Serve Sauce and Spaghetti in separate bowls with grated parmesan cheese on the side.
