Muhlenberg Mud Pie

  1. Heat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Grease bottom and side of 9-inch pie plate.
  3. Stir together granulated sugar, butter, flour, cocoa, vanilla, salt and eggs in medium bowl.
  4. Stir in nuts.
  5. Pour into pan.
  6. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until edge appears dry and toothpick inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean (center will be moist).
  7. Immediately prick holes in pie with toothpick. Spread 1/4 cup fudge sauce over top.
  8. Cool completely.
  9. Beat heavy cream and powdered sugar in chilled medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until stiff.
  10. Spread over fudge sauce.
  11. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons fudge sauce.
  12. Cover and refrigerate any remaining pie.
  13. Serves 8.
