Grits And Cheese Casserole

  1. In a 3-quart casserole place water, grits and salt.
  2. Microwave at High 10 to 12 minutes, uncovered, stirring after five minutes. Add butter and cheese to grits.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Microwave on High 1 to 2 minutes, until butter and cheese are melted.
  5. Stir well.
  6. In a 1-cup measure, beat eggs and fill with milk to the 1-cup line. Add garlic powder and Tabasco.
  7. Quickly stir into grits.
  8. Pour mixture into a well-greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch casserole dish.
  9. Dot top with butter.
  10. Sprinkle with paprika.
  11. Microwave on High 17 to 19 minutes, rotating dish one-half turn after 9 minutes, until set.
  12. Serves 8 to 10.
