Lasagna(Serves 8)

  1. Cook meat in 5-quart pan over medium heat.
  2. Saute sausage, beef, onion and garlic, stirring frequently, until browned.
  3. Add sugar, 1 tablespoon salt, basil, fennel, pepper and half of the parsley.
  4. Mix. Add tomatoes, paste and 1/2 cup water, mashing tomatoes.
  5. Bring to boiling.
  6. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until thick (1 1/2 hours).
