  1. PRHEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES
  2. COMBINE:
  3. BUTTER
  4. SHORTENING
  5. SUGAR
  6. BLEND UNTIL FLUFFY
  7. ADD VANILLA AND EGGS, BLEND WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION
  8. IN SEPARATE BOWL COMBINE:
  9. OATMEAL (BLENDED FINELY)
  10. FLOUR
  11. BAKING SODA
  12. BAKING POWDER
  13. SALT
  14. BLEND WELL
  15. ALTERNATE MIXING DRY WITH WET MIXTURE TO ENSURE EVEN BLENDING.
  16. ADD IN CANDY PIECES AND SHAVINGS
  17. MIX WELL.
  18. USING A COOKIE SCOOP DROP ONTO COOKIE SHEET PAN. BAKE AT 375 FOR 7-9 MINUTES OR UNTIL EDGES ARE BROWN. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND LET REST FOR 1 MINUTE THEN SQUISH LIGHTLY WITH SPATULA. REMOVE AND COOL.
