Almond-Fudge Brownies With Chocolate Glaze
- FOR BROWNIES
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2/3 cup flour
- FOR CHOCOLATE GLAZE
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- PREP
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease a 9X9X2 baking pan - set aside.
- MAKE BROWNIES
- In a medium saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat - turn off burner.
- Whisk in sugar, eggs and vanilla by hand until just combined.
- Whisk in flour.
- Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
- Cool in pan on a wire rack.
- MAKE CHOCOLATE GLAZE
- In a saucepan cook and stir butter, cocoa powder and milk until mixture comes to a boil.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour over cooled brownies.
