Brunswick Stew
- 1 (4 1/2 pound) pork roast
- 1 (4 1/2 pound) hen
- 3 (16 ounce) cans tomatoes, undrained and chopped(I put in food processor)
- 1(8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 lg onions finely chopped
- 2 small green peppers finely chopped
- 3/4 c vinegar
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1 c water
- 3/4 c all purpose flour
- 1 T salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 2-3 T hot sauce
- 1(20 ounce) package frozen shoepeg corn
- Cook pork and hen separately 325 degrees.
- Remove fat, skin, bones and cut into 2 in pieces
- Grind in food processor
- Combine ground meat, tomatoes, tom sauce, onion, gr pepper, vinegar and sugar in large Dutch oven
- combine water and flour stirring until flour dissolved
- stir into meat mixture
- stir in salt, pepper, turmeric and hot sauce.
- Cook and add water as necessary. Stir in corn and cook additional 10 minutes until corn tender
