  1. Bake cake according to package directions using 2 9 in. round cake pans. Let cool. (Tip: if you need help getting them out of pan, set on top of stove to warm and loosen them).
  2. Slice both equally in half.
  3. Put 3 tbs. flour and 1 cup milk over low/medium heat. Cook until thickened. Cool to room temperature.
  4. While flour mix is cooling, beat 1 cup sugar and 1 cup margarine until light and fluffy. Approximately 10 - 20 minutes of constant mixing.
  5. Add 1 tsp. pure vanilla and flour mixture. Mix until blended.
  6. Spread frosting mixture evenly on each cooled layer.
  7. Put in refrigerator until well chilled. From 3 hours to overnight. Slice cake in thirds and slice down. Voila!
