Turtle Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine flour, sugar, brown sugar, cocoa and salt. Add butter, eggs and vanilla; beat until mixture is thoroughly blended and smooth. Spread half the batter in pan; arrange layer of caramels evenly over batter; scatter nuts over caramels; spread remaining batter over nuts.
  3. Bake 25 minutes until firm but still moist. Cool brownies in pan. Cut into 2-inch squares.
