Suzy'S Gourmet Wedding Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. 1.Cream the butter with 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar.
  3. 2.Add flour and salt and mix well.
  4. 3.If using nuts, add them to the dough mixture and mix well.
  5. 4.Roll the dough out into a square, 1/2 inch thick. Using a sharp knife cut the dough into one inch squares.
  6. 5.Take the squares and shape them into balls about 1 inch in diameter and then with the palm of your hand, flatten the cookie. Place the cookies on a non-stick cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly brown on the bottom.
  7. 6.Let cookies cool for a few minutes and then put the remaining 1/4 cup powdered sugar on a plate and roll the cookies in the sugar and shake off.
  8. *Vegetable oil or margarine may be substituted for some or all of the butter.
