Chocolate Walnut Pie
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 3/4 cup walnuts*
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips*
- pie crust (either prepared or homemade)
- fresh whipped cream, lightly sweetened
- Lightly beat the eggs, and mix in the sugars, corn syrup, vanilla and butter. Layer the pie crust with approximately 3/4 cup of chocolate chips (more or less depending on the size of the pan). Cover the chocolate chips walnuts. (Enough to completely cover the chocolate). Pour the egg mixture over the chocolate and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
- Serve warm or cooled, accompanied by whipped cream.
