Garlic Bubble Loaf

  1. In large mixer bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups bread flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Whisk to combine.
  2. Meanwhile, in a microwave safe bowl, heat milk, water and 2 tablespoons of butter (or shortening) until warm (120u0b0-130u0b0F; the butter may not melt). Add the warm liquids and the egg to the flour mixture. Blend at low speed until moistened, then beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
  3. By hand, gradually stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on floured surface about 2 minutes, until the dough is soft and smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 2 parts, then divide each half into 6 pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth ball.
  5. Melt the remaining 1/4 of butter, then combine with paprika and garlic powder, and mix well. Dip the balls of dough into butter mixture. Place in a greased 9 x 5- inch bread pan, using 6 balls on each layer. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cover and let rise in warm place until indentation remains after lightly touching.
  6. While the bread is rising, preheat the oven to 375u0b0F. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown. Remove from pan and serve warm.
