Blueberry Buckle
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 1/2 c. fresh blueberries
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- Mix
- 3/4
- cups
- sugar,
- shortening, eggs and milk until well blended.
- Stir
- in 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and
- cloves; fold in berries.
- Spread batter in greased 9-inch square
- pan.
- Combine
- remaining
- ingredients
- and mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle
- crumbs
- over
- batter.
- Bake at 375u0b0 about 45 minutes
- or until cake top springs back when lightly touched. Serve warm, cut into squares, with a lemon sauce.
