Roll Tide Hoagies
- 6 Whole Wheat Hoagie Buns
- 3 Red Vine Tomatoes
- 1 Green Tomato
- 3 Large Green Bell Peppers
- 2 Large Red Bell Peppers
- 2 Packages Hot & Spicy Sausage
- (Pork or Beef)
- 1 Large Spanish or Sweet Onion
- 2 Tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tsp Dried Sweet Basil
- 1 Tsp Fresh Pepper
- 1 Tsp Kosher Salt
- 6 Sheets of aluminum Foil
- approximately 8" x 12"
- Before you leave home for your tailgate party:
- 1. Dice Red Tomatoes, Green Tomato, Bell Peppers and Onions and place them in a plastic zipper bag.
- 2. Remove sausage from package and slice from top to bottom to remove sausage casings. Heat non-stick skillet on medium-high heat and brown sausage to crumble. Let cool for 5 minutes then package sausage in large zipper bag.
- 2. Mix Garlic powder, Basil, Salt and Pepper together and put in plastic zipper bag.
- Upon arrival to the tailgate:
- 1. Heat grill to High Heat.
- 2. Create "pouches" with aluminum foil and divide pre-packaged ingredients evenly amongst the six pouches.
- 3. Place each pouch on grill for 8 minutes and remove to cool for 5 minutes.
- 4. Open pouches and place contents inside whole wheat hoagie bun.
- 5. SERVE AND ENJOY THE GAME!!!
