Star -Struck Shrimp With Angel Hair Pasta
- 1/2 pound angel hair pasta
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 6 green onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup snow peas
- 1 to 2 star anise, finely ground
- 1 teaspoon salt; and pepper to taste
- 1 pound peeled, cooked shrimp
- 1 carambola (star fruit), diced;
- soy sauce to drizzle, to taste
- Cook 1/2 pound angel hair pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon each vegetable oil and toasted sesame oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat; add 6 green onions, chopped; 3 cloves garlic, minced; and 1 cup snow peas. Stir-fry until fragrant, 2 minutes. Add 1 to 2 star anise, finely ground; 1 teaspoon salt; and pepper to taste. Stir-fry 30 seconds. Add 1 pound peeled, cooked shrimp and 1 carambola (star fruit), diced; stir-fry until hot, 1 minute. Drain pasta; add to wok. Toss. Serve, drizzled with soy sauce.
