Baked Cinnamon French Toast

  1. Line the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish with 6 slices of bread.
  2. Butter remaining bread.
  3. Place butter side up over bread in pan.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs.
  5. Add milk, cream, sugar and vanilla.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Pour over bread.
  8. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  9. Place the dish in a larger baking pan.
  10. Pour boiling water into larger pan to a depth of 1-inch.
  11. Bake, uncovered, at 375u0b0 for 40 minutes, until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  12. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
  13. Top with preserves and whipped cream, if desired.
  14. Serves 6.
