East India Pie

  1. Beat egg yolks well until light and thick.
  2. Sift together sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Gradually add sugar mixture to egg yolks.
  3. Add pecan halves, raisins and melted butter.
  4. Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry and fold them gently into the sugar mixture. As you fold them in, add vinegar.
  5. Pour into an 8-inch unbaked pastry shell. Bake in a hot oven, 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 25 minutes more.
  6. Cool and serve with unsweetened whipped cream.
