French Apple Dessert
- 6 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples (4 to 6 medium)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup Bisquick original baking mix
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 Tbl margarine or butter, softened.
- 1 and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- ***Streusel Topping
- 1 cup Bisquick original baking mix
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 Tbl. firm margarine or butter
- Mix baking mix, nuts and brown sugar. Cut in margarine with fork or pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
- Heat oven to 350. Grease rectangular baking dish, 13X9X2 inches. Prepare the Streusel topping and set aside. Spread apples in baking dish.
- Stir the remaining ingredients until well blended. Pour over the apples. Sprinkle with topping.
- Bake uncovered for 55 minutes or until the knife comes clean.
