Friday Night Pasta Bake

  1. Brown the mince in a little oil until meat is brown. Once all the meat is colored, add the onions & garlic and cook together for five minutes. Season well and add the red pesto, Worcester sauce & oregano.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook at low heat for 25 - 35 minutes, or until the meat is just tender and the consistency is thick, adding more liquid if necessary.
  3. Whilst mince is cooking, cook pasta according to directions.
  4. To make the Bechamel Sauce
  5. Melt the butter in a pan and add the flour. Mix the flour and butter over the heat then add one third of the milk to the pan and whisk together. Add the rest of the milk and mix well then season and cook over medium heat for three minutes.
  6. When pasta is cooked, stir into the Bechamel Sauce.
  7. To assemble the dish
  8. Put half of the mince mixture into an ovenproof dish. Top with half of the pasta mixture. Next put and rest of the mince mixture, finishing with the remainder of the pasta mixture.
  9. Sprinkle with parmesan and bake in the preheated oven at 180u0b0C for 25 minutes
