Brandied Cherry Coffeecake
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. soft cream cheese
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
- 1/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. cherry brandy
- Combine cream cheese, sugar and margarine.
- Beat until well blended.
- Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
- Combine dry ingredients, add to mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour into greased and floured 19 x 9-inch pan.
- Mix brandy with cherries and spoon over batter.
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
- When cool, dust with powdered sugar.
