Georgia Peach Pound Cake

  1. Grease 10-inch tube pan with 2 tablespoons butter.
  2. Sprinkle pan with 1/4 cup sugar. Cream remaining butter.
  3. Gradually add remaining butter, beating well.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Add vanilla and mix well. Combine 2 3/4 cup flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixing, beating well until well blended. Dredge dry peaches with 1/4 cup flour.
  6. Fold peaches in batter.
  7. Pour in prepared tube pan and bake at 325u0b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan and cool completely.
  9. (Can dust with powdered sugar, if desired.)
