Jam Cake With Date Filling And Caramel Frosting
- 1 stick butter
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 6 eggs
- 2 pkg. chopped figs
- 1 box raisins
- 2 c. blackberry jam
- 2 c. strawberry jam
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. English walnuts
- 1 c. pecans
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, beating well.
- Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk.
- Add the jams. Mix fruits and nuts; dredge with flour.
- Add to creamed mixture. Pour into 4 greased layer cake pans.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes. Spread Date Filling between layers.
- Frost with Caramel Frosting.
