Mom'S Butter Cookies With Icing

  1. Combine powdered sugar, corn starch and flour then fold in butter with a fork and mix well.
  2. Divide dough into two or three equal parts and roll into cylinders using wax paper. Refrigerate overnight. Slice each cylinder into 1/4 slices then bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes at 325. Let cook for a minute or two before removing from pan.
  3. For icing, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar until desired consistency. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until smooth and of desired consistency (a thick syrup).
