Ghana Demerara Brownies

  1. pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
  2. melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler. set aside but keep warm.
  3. stir sugar and eggs together to desired consistency.
  4. combine chocolate/butter with the sugar/eggs and slowly stir until thoroughly mixed (raw sugar may still be a little crystallized).
  5. add in the flour, salt and vanilla and combine slowly until thoroughly mixed.
  6. lightly coat the inside of a 9x13 pan with butter.
  7. sprinkle the inside of the pan with 100% unsweetened cocoa powder.
  8. pour brownie batter into prepared pan
  9. bake for 35 minutes.
