Bama'S Turkey Dressing
- 1/4 cup - Melted butter
- 2 each - Bermuda onions, diced
- 2 cups - Celery
- 1 bag - Stuffing mix
- 1 batch - Cornbread
- 2 large eggs - Beaten well
- 2 teaspoons - Baking powder
- 1 cup - Black walnuts, chopped
- Pepper - to taste
- Milk - to moisten
- Ingredients can be combined ahead of time, except for the eggs, butter and milk.
- Best if prepared just before placing the turkey in the oven.
- Crumble the baked cornbread into a large bowl.
- Add stuffing mix.
- Add baking powder.
- Add the celery.
- Add the onions.
- Add walnuts.
- Mix the above ingredients in the large bowl.
- Add eggs.
- Mix the above ingredients in the large bowl.
- Add butter.
- Mix the above ingredients in the large bowl.
- Add milk so stuffing is moist, but not soggy.
- Mix the above ingredients in the large bowl.
- Add pepper to taste.
- Stuff turkey with stuffing mix within 30 minutes before the turkey is placed in the oven.
- Place the remaining stuffing mix in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0 F.
- Place remaining stuffing mix in lightly buttered casserole dish with cover.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for 1 hour or until fully cooked.
