Grilled Sesame Beef
- 2 tbl sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sake
- 1 tbl lemon juice
- 1 tbl sesame oil
- 1 tbl sugar
- 2 green onions, minced
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tsp minced ginger
- 1 lb New York steak
- 1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tsp water
- Place sesame seeds in small frying pan over medium heat; cook, shaking pan frequently, until lightly browned, 3 - 4 minutes. Immediately remove from pan to cool.
- Combine marinade ingredients and add beef to marinade. Cover & refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
- BBQ steak. Put marinade in small pan. While meat is cooking, simmer marinade for 3 minutes. Add cornstarch solution & cook, stirring, until sauce bubbles & thickens slightly. Cut steak into bite size pieces and add to rice and sesame asparagus. Pour sauce over.
