Chocolate Bavarian Pie

  1. Prepare pie shell; cool.
  2. Sprinkle gelatin onto 1 cup of milk in a medium saucepan; allow to stand for 2 minutes.
  3. Combine sugar and cocoa; add to mixture in saucepan.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
  5. Remove from heat; add butter and stir until melted.
  6. Blend in 2/3 cup milk and vanilla. Cool; chill until mixture begins to set, stirring occasionally. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form; carefully fold into chocolate mixture, blending well.
  7. Pour into pie shell; chill until set.
  8. Prepare Strawberry Whipped Cream.
  9. Pipe in a decorative design and top with reserved frozen or fresh strawberries.
