Sweet Potato Wontons With Spicy Maple Dipping Sauce

  1. Roast sweet potatoes until tender or use prepared from can. Mash potatoes and mix with cream cheese and Chinese 5 spice and pinch salt.
  2. Assemble wontons by dabbing edges with water and filling with potato cheese mixture. Fold over in a triangle and pinch edges to seal with a fork.
  3. Heat canola oil in saute pan and fry filled wontons on both sides until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
  4. Dipping sauce:
  5. Heat maple syrup over med heat and stir in cayenne pepper.
