Prawn Marie-Rose & Puff Pastry

  1. Defrost the frozen pastry
  2. flour a work surface & using a floured rolling pin roll out the pastry not too thin.
  3. cut circles or squares using a cutter or knife
  4. put the puff pastry now onto a metal greased tray & bake in a hot oven for 15 minutes at 180oC until risen & light crisp brown in colour then sit aside to cool on a cooling rack.
  5. Defrost the frozen prawns in cold water.
  6. Squeeze the water from the prawns
  7. put them into a plastic bowl
  8. make up the sauce,add mayo,ketchup & a dash of tobasco
  9. mix well & add some sauce to the prawns to bind them together.
  10. Pour enough sauce onto a good size starter plate,just enough to cover the surface.
  11. slice the strawberry & cucumber very thin.
  12. Lay evenly around the outside of the plate.cut the puff pastry in half & fill with a few spoonfuls of prawn mix sticking the lid back on ,place the a puff pastry in the centre of the plate and it should stick down onto the sauce firmly.then put a layerof sauce over the top finishing off with a garnish on top like shredded peppers,leeks,paprika,picked parsley,plainleaf parsley or ketchup
