Salsa Sauce Hors D'Oeuvre
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomato, diced fine
- 1 medium onion, diced fine
- 6 diced fine jalapeno peppers with seeds
- 1 large lemon or lime (juice only)
- 2 large garlic, mashed
- 24 sprigs cilantro, chopped fine
- 6 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- We use a manual food grinder with coarse blade for all dicing. Combine all ingredients in large bowl.
- Salt and pepper to taste. Place in 3-quart saucepan on medium heat, stir frequently.
- Add cornstarch and bring to low boil.
- Take off from heat.
- Let cool before putting in containers.
- The longer it sets the better it gets.
- Serve with chips.
- Makes about 2 quarts.
