Fudge Pudding-Cake
- Cake:
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons butter
- 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- Topping:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon baking cocoa
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
- Cream butter; add sugar and vanilla and mix. Add melted chocolate and flour sifted with salt and baking powder. Add milk and mix until well blended. Place this mixture in a buttered 8 X 8 inch pan.
- For topping, mix brown sugar and granulated sugar, cocoa and salt together. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the fudge batter. Pour the boiling water over the topping. DO NOT STIR. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
