Picadillo
- 1.5 lb gr. beef
- 1 med onion, chopped
- 1 med green pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 14.5 oz can diced or crushed tomatoes in juice additional tomato paste as needed.
- 1/2 cup sliced green olives
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 2 TBSP capers optional
- salt& pepper
- 3/4 tsp cumin ++
- 1/8 tsp allspice or cinammon+
- chili powder
- hot cooked rice
- In skillet brown ground beef adding onion, garlic and green pepper after a few minutes.Drain. Add tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer a little and add olives and rasins and continue to simmer.
- Serve with rice. Also good with tortilla chips or wrapped in a soft tortilla
- Can double+ if needed.
- Can add a little water if needed.
