Dish-In-One
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground meat
- 1 can whole kernel corn, partly drained
- 1 small onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 2 or 3 peeled, sliced fresh tomatoes
- 3 to 4 slices white bread, torn into fair size pieces
- 4 to 6 slices bacon, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces (enough to cover top of casserole)
- Break ground meat into chunks and brown.
- Drain fat.
- Making one or two layers in a greased casserole, put meat, onion, green pepper, corn and tomato slices.
- Season with salt and pepper and garlic powder as you go along.
- When all ingredients are layered, cover the top of casserole with bread pieces and then lay bacon pieces on top of bread.
- (You can freeze or put in refrigerator at this point.)
- Bake in a 375u0b0 oven until heated through and bacon is browned.
