My Lasagna
- 1 pound hot italian sausage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion
- 2 garlic: minced
- 24 ounces pasta sauce
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon fennel seed
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 15 ounces ricotta
- 16 ounces cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 pound mozzarella: shredded
- 4 ounces parmesan: shredded
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

- Cook beef and sausage; Drain. Cook onion, garlic and red pepper flakes. Return meat to pot. Add sauces, paste and water. Add spices minus 1/4 teaspoon salt. Simmer.
- Mix ricotta, cottage cheese, egg and rest salt.
- Put a little sauce on bottom of 2 casserole dishes. Layer with noodles, cheese mix, sauce mozzarella 2 times. Top last layer with parmesan. Spray foil and top. Bake covered 25 minutes. Bake uncovered 25 minutes.
