Oatmeal Caramel Chewies

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Combine oats, flour, sugar, soda and salt.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Stir in margarine.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Reserve 1 cup.
  8. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of pan. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  9. Cool 10 minutes.
  10. Top with nuts and chocolate chips.
  11. Mix caramel topping and 1/4 cup flour until smooth.
  12. Drizzle over chocolate pieces to within 1/2-inch of pan edge.
  13. Sprinkle with reserved mixture.
  14. Bake 18 to 22 minutes. Cool and chill until set.
