Cabbage Rolls(Also Known As Polish Pigeons)
- 8 large cabbage leaves
- 1 lb. ground beef or beef and pork mix
- 1 c. cooked rice
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- Combine ground beef, rice, onion, egg, salt and pepper.
- Boil cabbage leaves until limp.
- Separate, trim and cool.
- Combine all but tomato soup and vinegar.
- Divide mixture among cabbage leaves. Roll together and secure each with toothpicks.
- Mix tomato soup with (extra leaves cover the filled ones before tomato soup) 1 can water and 1 teaspoon vinegar.
- Pour over cabbage rolls.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours or cook in skillet over very low heat for 45 minutes.
- Stir often spooning sauce over rolls.
