Fresh Apple Pie
- 6 c. sliced apples
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cinammon
- dash of salt
- 2 tb. butter
- 1 box ready made pie crust
- Use a rolling pin to spread out the pie crusts to fit pie dish
- Place one crust in pie dish, pierce with a fork all around and bake until slightly brown
- Remove from oven
- Peel, core and slice apples into a large bowl
- Stir together flour, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
- Mix with apples.
- Pour apple mixture into baked pie crust and dot with butter.
- Cover with top crust.
- Pierce top crust with knife for steam to escape and brush lightly with milk and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
- Cover the edges of crust only with tinfoil to prevent burning.
- Bake 40-50 min or until crust is golden and apples are soft when pierced with a knife.
