Fresh Apple Pie

  1. Use a rolling pin to spread out the pie crusts to fit pie dish
  2. Place one crust in pie dish, pierce with a fork all around and bake until slightly brown
  3. Remove from oven
  4. Peel, core and slice apples into a large bowl
  5. Stir together flour, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
  6. Mix with apples.
  7. Pour apple mixture into baked pie crust and dot with butter.
  8. Cover with top crust.
  9. Pierce top crust with knife for steam to escape and brush lightly with milk and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
  10. Cover the edges of crust only with tinfoil to prevent burning.
  11. Bake 40-50 min or until crust is golden and apples are soft when pierced with a knife.
