Snowball Cookies
- Ingredients:
- 4 cups flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 sticks of butter (1 cup)
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 eggs (beaten)
- 1 tbls vanilla
- 1 tbls anise extract
- Icing:
- 3/4 lb confectionary sugar
- 1 tsp. anise extract
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- milk
- colored sprinkles
- Directions:
- Sift flour and baking powder, set aside. Melt butter. Add sugar and beaten eggs. Blend well, adding vanilla and anise extract. Add dry to when, when it starts to hold together toss on to a floured surface. Should be a damp dough. Knead approximately 2 minutes.
- Form 1' round cookies. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Should be light in color.
- Icing:
- Add anise, vanilla and approximately 2 tbls milk to sugar. Mixture should be thick enough to dip cookies upside down to coat top. Sprinkle with colored balls. Place on counter to dry.
