Gobs

  1. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquids into creamed butter and sugar mixture.
  2. Drop onto UNGREASED cookie sheets (I used a 1/8 cup measuring cup a good size)
  3. Bake 4 to 7 minutes. Remove from oven, cool slightly, remove from sheets. Match up pairs of cookies and fill with filling, then wrap with plastic and refrigerate.
  4. FILLING:
  5. Combine in saucepan and cook until thick and smooth:
  6. 5 1/2 Tbsp flour
  7. 1 cup milk COOL THOROUGHLY
  8. Beat until fluffy:
  9. 1 cup sugar
  10. 1 cup shortening
  11. 1/2 tsp salt
  12. 1 tsp vanilla
  13. Add flour mixture and beat again.
