Beef Stew
- 1 1/2 lb. cubed beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 (15 oz.) can Italian plum tomatoes, crushed
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 3/4 can water
- 4 carrots, cut into large pieces
- 4 potatoes, quartered
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. ketchup
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Brown meat in small amount of oil in Dutch oven. Add onion, tomatoes, tomato sauce and water.
- Simmer until meat is almost done, at least 1 hour.
- Add carrots and simmer 30 minutes.
- In a cup, mix together ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and a little stew broth and mix well.
- Add this to stew; mix well.
- Add potatoes.
- Simmer until potatoes are done and to desired juiciness.
